George Wright maintains a defense-oriented practice that focuses on insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, and medical causation. He grew up all over the country with a military family but settled in South Louisiana after law school.  In law school George received the CALI award in Personal Injury and Death. George’s entire career is centered around litigation and he is experienced with matters from pre-suit negotiation through the completion of trial, all with a mindset of lowering his client’s exposure and expenses.

Representative Experience

  • Orchestrated the total risk transfer, via tender of defense and indemnity, for an insurance client in an offshore case involving several severely injured plaintiffs;
  • Obtained the complete dismissal of a plaintiff’s claims, to include claims for damages related to a surgery, through an exception of prescription related to plaintiff’s failure to abide by the Code of Civil Procedure;
  • Obtained a complete dismissal, via summary judgment, of a plaintiff’s claims under the Louisiana Products Liability Act based on plaintiff’s failure to establish the manufacturer’s identity;
  • Represented skilled nursing facilities against actions covered by the Louisiana Medical Malpractice Act as well as against actions that sound in tort, to include premises liability and hazardous conditions;
  • Represented off-shore service, rental, and staffing companies against various maritime and admiralty claims filed in state and federal court; and
