John Grinton is a partner of the firm admitted in state, federal and appellate courts throughout Louisiana.  His practice focuses on commercial and construction litigation, representing insurance companies, architects, engineers, contractors and other businesses in all aspects of litigation.  His workers’ compensation practice includes representing clients in medical billing disputes, healthcare provider disputes, statutory/borrowing/special employer disputes, and court approved settlements. John has been involved in complex cases involving construction defect claims, breach of contract and negligence actions, insurance coverage issues, lender liability, securities litigation and personal injury matters. He has firsthand experience in jury trials and arbitration's, as well as mediation, appellate briefing and oral argument.

John focuses his practice on workers’ compensation, design professional liability, construction related disputes, and claims ranging from personal injury and slip-and-fall accidents to industrial accidents and product failures. John’s clients appreciate his attention to detail, tireless work ethic, and his ability to diligently and efficiently handle their files to a favorable conclusion.  Representative clients include:
  • Insurance carriers, third-party administrators and employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Architects, engineers and other design professionals in construction litigation involving errors and omissions, contract administration claims, and delay and economic loss claims.
  • Contractors, facility operators and owners in industrial accidents including catastrophic failures, fire and explosion.
  • Contractors and subcontractors in construction defect and related disputes.
  • Insurance clients and self-insured companies in areas of professional liability, products liability, property and casualty and catastrophic loss claims.
  • Represented owner of a large apartment complex in state court litigation dealing with questions of construction defects and insurance coverage, which culminated in a two-week jury trial.
  • Successfully secured the dismissal of all claims against a national securities brokerage firm in lawsuit filed in state court.
  • Negotiated a favorable resolution for an out-of-state machine-manufacturing company in state court.
  • Provided general litigation support for a healthcare provider in state court, federal court and mediation in obtaining reimbursement for services rendered and successfully defended motion to dismiss in federal court.
  • Successfully defended a company in a federal court breach of contract lawsuit resulting in dismissal of all claims against client.
